While there is no way to guarantee the weather, in early season (Sept 1 to Sept 21), the days are generally warm with no frost at all. From the 21st of September to the 5th of October, the days will cool down with the occasional frost. From about October 5th until the end of the season, early morning frosts become more frequent and after the 21st of October cold and snow are real possibilities.

One of the best ways to pack is to pack excess gear in your cooler along with a duffle bag and on the return flight pack the duffle bag leaving the cooler free for birds.

What shots are supplied?

All 12 and 20ga steel shot is supplied as part of your hunt at Canada Maximas. Our shot will be light loads in either 3" or 2 3/4" in BB's and 2's with plenty of powder, reaching muzzle velocities of 1,500+ ft/second.

If you wish to use any other type of shot feel free to bring your own, or we will try to get it in for you at an extra charge.

Well trained retrievers and pointers are welcome at the lodge. The lodge has Kennels for the dogs outside the lodge but well trained house dogs will be welcome in your room.
